£1 a Day from Each Site

I was just looking through my list of sites and I have around 40 sites that are up and running.  Some are more up and running than others but all of them are in a position to make a sale at some point.  After seeing this it occurred to me that if they were all making £1 day I’d be bringing in around £1000 a month which is pretty much my main goal in affiliate marketing (and life!).

Most of my sties promote low cost items so for the majority of them they would need to make around 1.5 sales a day to get £1 in commission (I learnt my lesson and no longer promote such low cost items).  Some of my sites however can make around £20 a sale so that would even things out a bit.

But alas I am way off this target and am nowhere near £1000 per month.

But is £1 per day per site too to ask?   It doesn’t sound like it but it obviously is.

Today I’ve been mostly wasting my time reading affiliate marketing blogs as I thought work would be closed tomorrow due to the red shirts but our boss knows better so we are back in work tomorrow so no Internet marketing for me.

    I heard someone say recently that what you need is only 5000 people out of the entire population of the planet who want to pay you £10 a year and you have the basis of a business.

    In your case you are looking for £1 a day per site but I think your focus is wrong and you should restate this in terms of pence per visitor. This then leaves you the option to consider whether you are better off increasing your visitor numbers by creating new sites or promoting your existing sites.

    My advice – incidentally – would be to do both.

    Incidentally, in my experience if your typical commission is £1 but ‘some of my sites can make around £20 a sale’ then combining these equates to an actual average commission figure of probably about a £1 ;-)

    Hey,

    I did a very similar analysis on my blog…I talk about ‘Why Its Easy To Get Rich From Affiliate Marketing’ – the title was supposed to be a bit speculative, but if you read it you will see what I mean, and its along the same lines as you talk about here.

    When you break it down you dont need to be making that much money per day/site to generate a very good living from affiliate marketing

    @Richard Atkins
    I like that idea of 5000 people and 10 pound each. Of course what they are giving you the money for must not cost you anything! Maybe I should start a campaign to find 5000 people who are willing to give me 10 pounds each.

    @David Thanks, I will have a look. Will be interesting to read how much is ‘not that much money per day’ as I think I am already making not much money per day!

    i thinks its possible to have a site make £1 /per day, i’ve got more than a few that do that…the question is, how much time and effort you’ve invested to get to that point, i’m no big affiliate by any means, and my affiliate sites are very much a part time hobby, but i can categorically say that i’m making at least £3- £6/ day from adsense alone…with 2 sites…proving that your theory is correct.
