While I am saving up for Fresh Store Builder this WordPress theme that has been designed for use with amazon caught my eye:

• AzonAdvice WP Theme

It only costs $7 so I thought I’d get it and give it a try as I am looking for some extra functionality in my WordPress amazon sites.

I haven’t installed it yet but thought I’d post it here to see if anyone was interested.

Can anyone recommend any amazon WP themes or have experience of using Fresh Store Builder?

When it comes to 2012 its not been the best of years. Firstly my earnings are more than 50% down on 2011 and secondly I’ve managed to lose or break nearly all my electronic gadgets.

Firstly I lost my mobile phone somewhere between Chiang Rai and Bangkok. Then my laptop started playing up and now if it turns off it won’t turn back on for at least three or four days. When you combine this with its overheating problem that causes it to switch off if it gets too hot, you can see why this is a bit of a pain! After that my solar powered watch kept losing its charge even though I live in a country with 12 hours of sunlight a day. Proving that bad things don’t always happen in threes my Ipod touch decided to die on me and after changing the battery it still won’t turn on and remains broken. I’m still without a mobile phone but haven’t really missed it. I’ve missed my Ipod loads as I had some great apps on it. I should really combine the mobile phone and the Ipod and get an Iphone but at £500 they are a bit beyond my budget at the moment!

Then to top it all off someone who will remain nameless trod on my Kindle which I got for Christmas! This caused half the Kindle screen to go funny which meant I can only read the top half of each page.

Returning a Faulty Kindle

As it was a human error that caused the kindle to break I didn’t really think about trying to exchange it. But after a few weeks I decided to see if there was anyway to wrangle a new one out of Amazon. And it was surprisingly easy.

I logged into the amazon account it was purchased through and then did an online chat with one of their staff and they agreed to send me a new one. I forgot to mention it was broken by being trod on though. Once I get the new Kindle I should send back the old one but they didn’t seem too bothered about this part.

The only downside is that I am in Thailand so will have to risk getting it sent out here via the UK address which amazon send it to.

So I guess the point of this post is: amazon offer great customer service.

Update: seems like it was my SERP tracking tool giving me problems rather than my sites getting dropped. Whoops!

I’ve just been checking the ranking of some of my sites in Advanced Web Ranking and it seems like quite a few of them have been banished from the SERPS. I guess this Google update would’ve happened between February 22 & 23.

Anyone else noticed anything going?

Bit of a long shot but wondering if any of my readers uses PLR articles or pre-spun content for link building purposes?

I would never dream of putting this stuff on an actual site but have heard of people using it to put into systems like Unique Article Wizard and other article syndication software.

One service that has caught my eye is Article Builder but it is nearly $300 a year. But if it take the pain out of using services like UAW then it might be worth it.

If anyone has used Article Builder or something similar let me know. Also if you want to share a subscription let me know too!

Update: I’ve been using Article Builder for a while now and it seems to do what it claims. It could do with a few more categories/topics of articles but if your site is in one of the niches it has content for then you will really benefit from having all this extra content at the touch of a few buttons.

I’m using it mainly for submission into UAW and for Web 2.0s but I’ve set it to auto post to a few old domains just to see what happens.

Anyone using PLR or Pre-Spun Content for Link Building? is a post from: How I Got Rich

None of the previous Panda updates have affected my sites except for one site which got knocked down a few places or pages depending on the keyword. It didn’t take that long for the site to return to number one though although it was my biggest earner at the time and I lost a few quid.

Now though, after what I presume is the release of Panda 2.5, my sites’ rankings have been decimated! I checked a few sites the other day to see where they are in the SERPs as I do fairly regularly and I saw they had lost their number one spots for some of their main keywords. The morning I noticed the drop in rankings was the morning I was leaving for a weeks holiday in Malaysia. Not a good way to start a trip!

I was taking my laptop with me but wasn’t expecting to do any work as my sites were doing ok. Now that they are all falling out of the SERPs that plan might have to change.

This month was going pretty well and I’d had quite a few days where I made over £50 but since the drop I’ve only made a few pounds.

I haven’t had much time to read up on what has happened. Has anyone else noticed anything?

What are people doing to try and claw back their rankings? It looks like Amazon has come out pretty well of this from looking at the niches where I have sites.

My plan when I started full-time just over a week ago was to do a minimum of five hours work a day. This doesn’t sound like much but it was more than what I was doing before so in theory it should lead to an increase in profitbaily.

To Do List

I wrote out a rough to do list of things I would do and on Monday morning I set about working through them. Unfortunately I only managed about three hours on Monday. Oh well, it was the first day so probably best not to dive straight into it. Tuesday wasn’t much better and by Thursday I was down to maybe one hour a day!

Link Building

Although since going fulltime I’ve not been spending that much time on my actual sites I have been outsourcing a fair bit of link building. When you’ve not got much time this is probably a good way to at least get something done as it doesnt require much input from you apart from money. I’ve seen mixed results from my efforts, some sites have gone up nicely in the SERPs and some have not moved. It is confusing as it is hard to sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to rating a link building service but if something works I have been using it again. Social Bookmarking seems to be doing me quite well at the moment so I’m thinking of signing up for Bookmarking Demon. Has anyone used it?

Mini Net

I’ve been reading over on Sitey.net about creating your own mini net. Or network of sites you own that link to your main site. I do like this idea and am now going to start looking for some relevant domains that have dropped. Unitl then I will start using the cheaper content writers I’ve found on Odesk to make some Web 2.0 mini sites.

Fitness Regime

I also mentioned in my last post that I was going to start a new fitness regime while I am off work. I was thinking of doing 30 mins of cardio before starting work but suprisingly that never happened. I have been doing it in the evening instead which suits me better as I’m definately not a morning person. The new fitness plan has been stuck to for the most part and I’ve been doing weights three times a week, swimming almost every afternoon and then cardio in the gym in the evening almost every night. Hopefully by the end of the seven weeks I will be in better shape than ever before.

Slow Summer

Last month I had a pretty poor month and this month the trend has contiuned. My sites aren’t getting the traffic that they were in the previous months and this has affected my sales. Fingers crossed for an Autumn revival.
