Price Tapestry
I heard about Price Tapestry a long time ago but after a quick look I decided it was a bit too advanced for me and I left it alone, especially after Easy Content Units came out and did what looks like something similar much easier.
However, I am sure there is much more to Price Tapestry than I am aware of and as I start my ‘big site’ it is probably something I should investigate to see if I could be of use to me.
So before I do do any of my readers use it or know much about it?
Does anyone know of any sites that use it they wouldn’t mind linking to?
Is it easy to use?
After work today I wrote up two 200 word product reviews for my ‘big site’ and spent far too long tinkering with the placement of product images on it wasting valuable time. The rest of the evening was spent at language class and then stuff for work tomorrow. Roll on the weekend when I can spend a good chunk of time on my sites. It’s a fun life!

Hey you get an ED visa with those language classes? I would actually like to go and learn the language, alot more fun id say when your in the bar and can speak thai. You any good?
P
You can get an ED visa if you do a certain amount of hours of classes per week. McWallen is one school out here that does the visa. I only do a couple of hours a week so its not enough but I have a 12 month visa anyway so I’m ok.
I can’t speak it at all really, its very hard! But it would make things a lot more fun if you could. But you don’t really need it in Bangkok as everyone speaks English ok.
I’m using PT for the 1st time on my newest “big” site and it is a very steep learning curve, especially for someone without much php knowledge. The support from David has been fantastic though with him already writing me some new scripts to get around some of the difficulties I’ve been having. I’d say you’ll probably need to learn at least the basics of php to have any luck with PT to do anything other than a basic installation. That said, there is a lot of info on the support forum and what better way to learn than to chuck yourself in at the deep end?
Is it worth the £200 price tag? Probably. Bit too soon to tell but I can already see that this tool will be very powerful indeed. Just wish all of the networks would put out some better datafeeds.
Good luck with the big site dude.
Matt
Sounds interesting. I don’t know PHP so not sure if I could handle it plus I’m not sure what I want to do with it.
Is furniture discounts the site you are using it on?
I like what you’ve done with that site. When you click under Shop By Range are those the WordPress categories and when you click on them they display the posts from those categories? Do you get many clicking on the View Range button and if they do do they buy or do you think sending them to another site confuses them?
I’ve got a couple of furniture domains I never did any thing with. I thought commission might be quite high as furniture is quite pricey.
How have you found it?
I have just finished my first PT site and at first it’s pretty daunting but as soon as you get your head around it it’s not too bad and I’m new to PHP.
My site is blended with wordpress, so you have wordpress posts on the blog but you can pull in price comparisons or search results from PT into them. Then I have a shop section (that looks exactly the same) powered solely by PT.
It’s worth the £200 just for Davids help, he has helped me out so much with this first build by giving me scripts to add features and help with product mappings etc etc.
If you want a look at the site I’ve used it on email me or drop me a pm on A4U.
Chris.
Thanks kiddaclo, I’ve sent you an email.
I bought Price Tapestry a couple of months ago and will probably be using it for a couple of big sites. Like kiddaclo I also found it daunting at first, takes quite a bit of work to get the basic script looking and working how you want it. David is very helpful though and the forum is full of posts with modifications.
I am willing to try Price tapestry for one of my website but still wondering if it works well with wordpress? Is there any way to integrate it?
There are a lot of pages on Google about Price Tapestry and WordPress so there might be something out there.
Let us know how you get on with the two of them as I’d like to try it myself one day.
Can anyone suggest on how does PT works? As in is it a buy one time and stay happy forever with no need to upgrade/register, get a license etc etc? Can use it on multiple websites?
One of my “affiliate friend” offered me the PT script to try on and I am not sure if there might be any issues if I start using it?
Any help guys??
Anyone?
Not sure, have you checked on their forum?
Yup but couldn’t find anything in the same regards.
Asked someone using PT already and got the response that there are no issues apart from “No future updates”.

Thanks for sharing. Are you going to give it a go?
Sorry, not sure which site this was referring to.
If its the one I’m thinking of my .co.uk is number two and the .org.uk is number one. I haven’t updated it for about a year though as even at number one it only made a few quid.
Ya i guess. I don’t see no reason for not “trying” it atleast. Mail me if you want a copy too.
