I’ve been trying my luck in affiliate marketing since January 2009 with my first site going live in February 2009.
My approach so far has been making niche landing pages with information about products from that niche and links to merchants selling that item.
So far I have been targeting low priced items in niches that get around 3,000 to 10,000 searches per month according to Google’s Keyword Tool. Remember to chose exact match when doing a search!
Once I have worked out what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to making conversions on a landing page and I have improved my on and off page SEO I will start targeting higher priced niches in more competitive fields.
