  • Anyone using PLR or Pre-Spun Content for Link Building?

Bit of a long shot but wondering if any of my readers uses PLR articles or pre-spun content for link building purposes?

I would never dream of putting this stuff on an actual site but have heard of people using it to put into systems like Unique Article Wizard and other article syndication software.

One service that has caught my eye is Article Builder but it is nearly $300 a year. But if it take the pain out of using services like UAW then it might be worth it.

If anyone has used Article Builder or something similar let me know. Also if you want to share a subscription let me know too!

Update: I’ve been using Article Builder for a while now and it seems to do what it claims. It could do with a few more categories/topics of articles but if your site is in one of the niches it has content for then you will really benefit from having all this extra content at the touch of a few buttons.

I’m using it mainly for submission into UAW and for Web 2.0s but I’ve set it to auto post to a few old domains just to see what happens.

Find out which topics Article Builder has content for by clicking here now.

  • Writing Content is Not So Bad

Since I started outsourcing the writing of content for my sites I’ve not written anything substantial at all. Even before I began to outsource this task I could barely face writing any as I had gotten bored of it long ago.

But today I was bored at work with nothing to do so I thought I’d have a go at writing a piece for a domain I’d registered ages ago but forgotten about.

Once I got going I was almost enjoying it and managed to write over 800 words without too much effort. This would’ve cost me about £10 to outsource so I’ve managed to save enough for three pints of beer or 14 Pad Thais from the Pad Thai lady over the road.

I don’t think I will go back to writing my content myself but I will try and remember its not that bad and if I have some spare time it is something I can do.

So if you are putting off writing some content, get on with it, you might just enjoy it!

  • Outsourcing Written Content

When I first started out in affiliate marketing I was quite happy to write 200 word product descriptions of things I’d never used or seen in real life but once I experienced my first downturn in profits I lost most of my enthusiasm for all things slightly boring and since then I’ve found it hard to motivate myself to write much content for my sites and as any SEO’er will tell you Content is King.

Recently I started paying for articles for my sites to be written by someone else.  I was happy to pay them and they did a good job.  I was making money so I thought why not reinvest it in my ‘business’?  Whenever I started a new affiliate marketing site I would commission a 500 word piece of content for that site on the topic of the niche to give the site a kick-start in the SERPS.  Now I am going to have a go at getting the product descriptions outsourced.  Hopefully this should speed things up a lot and allow me to get my sites ranking faster and bringing money in quicker.

Once that is all sorted I will need to have a look at getting backlinks outsourced as so far I have hardly managed to get any for my sites.

Can anyone recommend a backlinks provider?

  • Price Tapestry

I heard about Price Tapestry a long time ago but after a quick look I decided it was a bit too advanced for me and I left it alone, especially after Easy Content Units came out and did what looks like something similar much easier.

However, I am sure there is much more to Price Tapestry than I am aware of and as I start my ‘big site’ it is probably something I should investigate to see if I could be of use to me.

So before I do do any of my readers use it or know much about it?

Does anyone know of any sites that use it they wouldn’t mind linking to?

    Is it easy to use?

After work today I wrote up two 200 word product reviews for my ‘big site’ and spent far too long tinkering with the placement of product images on it wasting valuable time.  The rest of the evening was spent at language class and then stuff for work tomorrow.   Roll on the weekend when I can spend a good chunk of time on my sites.  It’s a fun life!

  • 8 Pages in 2 Hours

I read something just now in Kirty’s blog which has inspired me to set myself a new challenge.  Kirsty mentioned that she sets herself the target of writing eight pages a day and aims to do so  in two hours.  Later on she says each page is about 250 words.

After reading that I have decided to set myself the same target.  Each day I will write 8 new pages for my existing sites (of which I have many).  I will aim to do it in two hours but will give myself longer if need be.  Each page will most likely be a WordPress post with an image of the product a link to the merchant and an ECU where appropriate.  Each post should be about 150-250 words.

Two hours isn’t long and I will spend the rest of my time working on other aspects of my sties including link building, finding new products or anything else I can think of.

Right, I better get off and start writing!

  • No Sales Today

So far April has been a good month in the world of affiliate marketing, I’d made a few  sales each day through amazon and some sales from sites that hadn’t made a sale yet.

But today I woke up and checked amazon first thing as usual to find I had made no sales the previous day.

I decided to spend my time at work focusing on affiliate marketing rather than my day job and posted on a few blogs to try and get some backlinks although most of them turned out to be ‘nofollow’.

I also singed up for Hub Pages and made two pages for two of my sites.  Not really sure how this works and it something I will look into over the weekend but at the least it should be a backlink and at the best will get me lots of traffic.

Also looked at how I could integrate twitter with a WordPress blog as this could be useful for getting people to subscribe and then return to the sites.

Someone has offered to write some content for one of my blogs in exchange for a couple of links so will see how that goes.

Finally I looked at how I could get a  ‘email this to a friend’ type tool for my sites in case someone stumbled across one of my sites and knew someone who might find it useful.

Got the next few days off work so will try and hammer as much content for my sites and do some more research on backlinks.
