Of those links that were clicked: 20 were ‘view more product info’ text links, 13 were ‘more info’ buttons, 5 were ‘buy now’ buttons, 3 were product image links & 2 were header-text links containing the product name.  NB: each product has all of the above link types.

11% is pretty good, keep that up on some high paying goods and you’ll be making tons ;)

wow, impressive, conversion rate of 3-5% is usually the norm for an affiliate program, so at 11% thats really good. congrats!

Thanks but it was just one day. Today is a different story:

20 people clicked on a merchant link which lead to 1 sale which is 5%

Most of the your websites (that I have visited) have ECU on them and I assume that the FREE version allows you to have your links displayed for 70 or 80% of the time. So considering this, you might be making more than what you are getting right now as a few clicks might even going to the merchant from the affiliates links by ECU.

Are you on the FREE ECU version or the paid one?

  • Jun 17th, 2009 at 11:54 | #5

I am using the free version of ECU but I don’t make any/many sales via ECUs. I’m not sure if it is the ECUs that put people off or the merchants they send them to.

99.99% of my sales come through direct links to Amazon. I have probably had less than 10 sales through other merchants.

How many of them usually clicks on the ECU links? Do you track them too by giving them a different tracking ID??

  • Jun 17th, 2009 at 13:12 | #7

Hardly any clicks to be honest compared to standard text links.

Nice stats and good conversion. I found Amazon to convert well for our niche sites too and only recently we’re seeing more sales through other merchants, but only started in Feb 2009. Haven’t used ECU yet as wanted to learn how to pull data feeds out of the MYSQL database and display the products onto specific page templates. Are you using Google Analytics for your stats?

  • Jun 18th, 2009 at 19:37 | #9

I use Statcounter to see realtime stats during the day just because I like looking at the numbers.

But I use Google Analytics for proper stats.

I need to learn about feeds and MySQL. Not sure where to start though…
